Who?

The obligatory self-introduction: My name is Chris Hutton. I'm currently 24 and live in north Atlanta (Alpharetta, to be specific). I'm married to a beautiful woman named Kristy, who is my best friend and number-one supporter.

I have been attending North Georgia College & State University, one of the six senior military colleges in the United States. North Georgia is unique in that it has a large non-military student population as well; in fact, only 15 - 20% of the school participates in the military program, with the rest of the student body consisting of resident females and civilian commuters. It is certainly a unique place to attend school. I am a Criminal Justice major, with a focus in Law Enforcement. After college, I anticipate seeking employment with a state or federal law enforcement / investigatory agency.

In addition to being a full-time student, I am a soldier in the Georgia Army National Guard. As of January 2005, I was activated to deploy with the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I spent time operating out of the Baghdad International Airport (BIAP) complex supporting combat operations of the 48th; and performed an intelligence and security role at LSA Anaconda, vicinity of Balad.

Since returning home, I have been focusing on finishing up with school. During some of my extra time, I also volunteer with Alpharetta Fire and Emergency Services. Through the fire department, I've improved my training in emergency medicine starting with the First Responder certification, and more recently, completed Emergency Medical Technician training. I'm currently finishing up the requirements to obtain my National Registry certification and Georgia EMT-I license.
